Background
Born and raised in London, England, Mr. Jones moved to the United States at 19 years old to play collegiate soccer in Kentucky. While in College, he played and captained the team for all four years and won a national championship with the debate team. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Communications, he set his sights on the law.
While studying law at the University of Cincinnati, Mr. Jones worked tirelessly to sharpen his trial skills. For example, before graduating law school, Mr. Jones secured two Not Guilty Verdicts in Hamilton County, Cincinnati, through the UC Criminal Defense clinic. He was a two-time TYLA Midwest Regional Champion on the UC Trial Team in both 2016 and 2017, and he represented Midwestern law schools at national competitions in back-to-back years. He also served as an Executive Member of the UC Moot Court Honor Board.
Outside of the courtroom in Ohio, Robert has conducted human rights research at the University of Essex, in Colchester, England, under Sir Nigel Rodley, contributing to UN reports on human trafficking and immigrant rights. He also served as head intern at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, managing operations and official visits.
